About Us

Our Mission and Values

Mission Statement

1. Mission and Context

The mission of Active8HSS is to empower organisations in the development of world-class occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems, leveraging the ISO 45001 framework and, to a greater extent, an Integrated Management System (IMS) based on the ISO standards of 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001.

We execute this mission by upholding the highest safety standards in our internal operations and by providing clients with expert, practical, and results-driven training solutions. We endeavour to be the trusted partner that assists businesses in protecting their personnel, enhancing company reputation, and embedding safety as an active, core value.

2. Integrated Commitments

  • Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001 / WorkSafeBC / NEBOSH):

    • Active8HSS is fundamentally committed to protecting the health and safety of all workers by providing safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work-related injury and ill-health.

    • We commit to eliminating hazards and reducing OH&S risks through the hierarchy of controls.

    • The Right to Refuse: We formally empower all personnel and contractors with the authority to stop any activity they deem unsafe or non-compliant, with a guarantee of zero reprisal.

    • We are committed to the consultation and participation of workers in all health and safety matters.

  • Quality & Customer Satisfaction (ISO 9001):

    • We commit to consistently meeting customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements while enhancing customer satisfaction through professional excellence.

  • Environmental Protection & Climate Resilience (ISO 14001):

    • We commit to protecting the environment and preventing pollution through sustainable resource use.

    • In accordance with the 2024 ISO amendments, we commit to assessing and mitigating Climate Change impacts and protecting biodiversity relevant to our global digital and physical footprint.

  • Information Security (ISO 27001):

    • We commit to maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (the CIA triad) of all information assets and client data entrusted to us.

3. Legal Framework & Continual Improvement

  • Legal Compliance: We pledge to fulfill all applicable legal requirements, including the BC Workers Compensation Act, OHS Regulation, and international ISO standards.

  • Framework for Objectives: This policy provides the baseline framework for setting and reviewing our integrated quality, environmental, security, and OH&S objectives.

  • Management of Change (MoC): We proactively manage organisational changes to maintain system integrity during business scaling.

  • The Incident-to-Amendment Loop: We view every incident as a critical opportunity for evolution. Any significant variance will trigger a Policy Revision Workshop to identify systemic opportunities for amendment and enhanced resilience.

4. Availability and Communication

This policy is maintained as documented information, communicated throughout the organisation during onboarding and briefings, and is available to all relevant interested parties via Active8HSS.com.

Strategic Oversight

Rooted in Experience & Education

I founded Active-8 Health, Safety & Security with a singular mission: to bridge the gap between complex regulatory requirements and the human factors that drive workplace safety. My career has been defined by high-stakes environments—from Law Enforcement and Military Service to the intricacies of the Human Services Sector.

I hold the NEBOSH International Diploma (IDipNEBOSH), a Level 6 qualification that is academically equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours. This advanced training, combined with my status as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 (QMS) 14001 (EHS) 45001 (OHS), and 27001 (ISMS), allows me to do more than just check boxes. I can design & implement Integrated Management Systems (IMS) that streamline quality, safety, environmental and security standards into one cohesive, audit-ready framework.[1]

What sets my approach apart is my background in Behavioral Science. With over 80+ instructional hours in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as an RBT (2023) and as an ex-certified Mandt Relational Trainer, I specialise in identifying and mitigating psychosocial risks. I believe that a safety system is only as strong as the human behaviour behind it. By combining my certification in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Incident investigation with tactical empathy and investigative precision, I help organisations in British Columbia protect their most valuable asset: their people."
